Super Bowl Ads That Got Political

Remember when people were pissed at Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during the National Anthem in protest of social injustice?  The San Francisco 49ers Quarterback took heat from sports fans and critics who argued that the gesture was disrespectful, and that politics didn’t belong in sports. Someone forgot to ‘hike’ that message to companies that advertised during the biggest sporting event of the year, Super Bowl LI.

Here are a few Super Bowl ads that scored with their political statements:

It’s a 10 Haircare

This ad took a shot at Donald Trump’s hair while spotlighting the diversity of America.

Audi tackled gender inequality with this its “Daughter” ad.

Air B&B

The home-sharing company left nothing to doubt with this ad featuring the faces of people from around the globe.  Their message #WeAccept, could also be seen as damage control after POC complained about not being accepted to Air B&B homes because of race discrimination.
